Focus areas

At the start, we will focus on four areas of service to meet real needs in Missoula and provide a solid foundation for club leadership development.

After two years, the club will hold a visioning conference with the Rotarians who have worked and learned together through the first years. We’ll assess our progress, the community’s needs, and global partnership opportunities. We may simply adjust our club’s activities, or we may embark on a wholesale redesign.

Initial Service Areas

  • Young boy in a blue jacket and orange helmet climbing an outdoor rock wall with red and yellow ropes, smiling.

    Youth leadership development

Help youth build leadership skills and learn the value of service through Interact (service leadership club), RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) and International Rotary Youth Exchange.

  • Three people, a young man, a young boy, and an elderly woman, sit at a table engaged in arts and crafts. The elderly woman is smiling while working on her project, and the children are focused on their activities.

    Intergenerational service

Create a community of all ages to share events and projects—encouraging seniors to participate in civic and social activities—and give back through mentoring and friendship.

  • A map of the Pacific Northwest showing a hiking trail route through various cities and landmarks, overlaid on a forest scene with a group of hikers walking through dense woods.

    Support the Y2Y Corrider

Missoula is a key community in the Yellowstone to Yukon Wildlife Corridor—an international project to help wildlife and people coexist in the 2000-mile long bioregion that extends from Wyoming to the Yukon.

  • Member-designed projects

Club projects pass Rotary’s Four-way Test, are self-funding and highly visible. We embrace the design principles of Modern Work and Agile Oranzing. Our projects are fast, focused and fun!
